Evil
Evil. “Hey, you can’t say that!”
Straight talk has become taboo in our culture. For fear of offending others in our politically correct climate, we talk around things rather than identifying them for what they are. Let me share a word picture. Let’s say two men are walking through the jungle and encounter a four legged creature with stripes weighing about five hundred pounds. Only one of them sees this creature, but his religion does not permit him to call it by the name tiger because it offends some of the villagers. So he begins to yell, “Stripes, stripes, teeth, teeth, eat, eat, run, run!” I know this sounds ridiculous, but this is the game we play everyday with danger all around us. Just is case you haven’t noticed, there is a storm coming and most of America is headed for the beaches. This storm of course is political and extremely dangerous. It has the potential to destroy the greatest accomplishments known to man throughout all history.
This storm of course is coming out of Washington D.C. The laws and policies are like bolts of lightening. The clouds in this storm are representing fear and despair. The flooding represents all that is valuable being swept away. Wherever it passes destruction is the result. Some hear the storm sirens at low volume, some hear it very faintly, and some think it’s the ice cream truck on the next block. Why can’t people hear the sirens loud and clear? Could it be that when we see the signs of this devastating storm, all we hear whispered is, “Cloud, cloud, rain, rain.”
God has endowed man with the power to classify or name. The Bible says, “And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.” Man uniquely has the ability to observe things and describe them based on their characteristics. An honest man, and surely a redeemed man, can properly classify things. If we don’t classify what’s coming out of Washington D.C. as evil, then we can’t do what’s necessary to prepare for the storm that’s coming. If we think it’s the ice cream truck, may God have mercy on us all.
