Courage and Obedience Required

Many pastors are unaware of election laws as it relates to the Church. If someone calls you and threatens to report you to the IRS for placing a Yes on Question 1 sign in front of your church, put another one out. The bullies are out in force and using terror as a weapon. The dirty little secret is that NO CHURCH has ever lost its tax exempt status since the infamous 1954 Johnson amendment of the IRS code. This paper tiger has been roaring ever since causing untold damage to the cause of Christ. This toothless tiger has been gumming the Church into submission.

Every case where the IRS has taken a church to court has been withdrawn before the judge can make a ruling. They cannot afford to have their unconstitutional super weapon exposed. They know what will happen if 450,000 churches become unleashed into the political market place. Nevertheless, we should all be like the Apostle Paul and consider that it’s better to obey God rather than man. Even under the IRS code, both pastors and the Church have much latitude to operate politically. Go to the following links to familiarize yourselves with the law. You will be pleasantly surprised and your city will thank you.

Quotes
"The church must take right ground in regards to politics...The time has come that Christians must vote for honest men and take consistent ground in politics. God cannot sustain this free & blessed country we love & pray for unless the church will take right ground. Politics are a part of religion in a country such as this and Christians must do their duty to their country as a part of their duty to God...God will bless or curse this nation according to the course Christians take in politics." - Rev. Charles Finney
